C is a high-level structured programming language originally developed by Dennis M. Ritchie at Bell Labs to develop the UNIX operating system.
The C programming language features are derived from an earlier language called “B” (Basic Combined Programming Language – BCPL). C is popular for its reliability, portability, flexibility, interactivity, and modularity.
C is an intermediate programming language. A major feature of C is the ability to divide programs into smaller modules. This makes the program more efficient. The “C” language is widely used for developing system applications and desktop applications in embedded systems.
Most Adobe applications are developed using the “C” programming language. Used for developing browsers and their extensions. Google’s Chromium is built using the “C” programming language. Used for database development. MySQL is the most popular “C” embedded database software for operating system development. Operating systems such as Apple’s OS X, Microsoft’s Windows, and Symbian are developed using the “C” language.
